Abstract | The results of an on going experimental campaign focusing on conventional and modem retrofitting techniques for reinforced concrete columns are presented. The parameters studied include the effect of jacketing (of reinforced concrete or fibre reinforced polymers) on deficient lap splices, the number of layers of the fibre reinforced polymers and the extent of the area of application of fibre reinforced polymers. Test results showed that jacketing is a very effective way of enhancing the deformation capacity of columns. |
